i do laundry

All was quiet and silence is never good with a kid...or so the saying goes. After calling out 'Sahim' a few times, I came out of the bedroom. I see him in the laundry room. He has removed the wet clothes from the washing machine, taken the bucket to the laundry room, removed the dry clothes from the laundry line and placed them on the ironing table, and is about to put to the wet clothes on the laundry line. I ask, "Sahim?"

He turns, points to the laundry line, tilts his head. "Baby Nagee" ("I've taken care of it")

This is it. These are the moments, a recently forced stay home mom, that make me smile and laugh with joy.

mr. bean

Sahim's taken a liking to mr. bean after the HBL Mr. Bean ad campaign. You tube is wonderful with all the Mr. Bean cartoons. I'm not thrilled. Mr. Bean is my least favourite character but anyway, this is just the beginning of many nuances. I digress. One of the Mr. Bean cartoons is about a Mr. Bean clone and of course Sahim has watched it. A few days later, Asghar called from work. Conversation between Sahim and Asghar:

Asghar: 'Hello Sahim.'
Sahim: 'Ullo Midder Been'
Asghar: 'Hello. Who's this?'
Sahim: 'Udder Midder Beeeen.'
