Last night, during bedtime:

Asghar to Sahim: "What's your name?"

Sahim: "Thay-mee" (Sammy)

...and I exploded yet again.

Jee Mama

I was out and received a call. Caller ID showed Asghar so I answered, "Jee Jannu." I heard on the other end a little voice, "Jee Mama."

Pop. Splat. Shatter. That's my heart exploding.

Screw

Sahim's remote controlled car has small screws to keep the battery in place. He has watched us unscrew and open the battery tab to charge the battery. A little while ago, Sahim took the screwdriver, unscrewed and opened the battery tab.

Me: "Well done Sahim! I know you're getting bigger and ready..."

Asghar: "...ready to screw around."

Me: "Sahim, diaper change karwao."

Sahim: "Nai."

Ah! The joys of our first conversations.

ABBA!

So I've been lying around all day feeling sorry for myself with a cold. Sahim's been entertaining himself which includes prying my eyes open should I be sneaking in a nap while he's up.

Asghar took him out to McDonald's (surprise surprise) for dinner. During the car ride, Sahim jumped around to Asghar, "Abba! Amma dawa naii." [= "we haven't given Amma medication Abba."]

Who're you going to kiss?

Sahim's new term has brought in a new class and new teachers. He's not too thrilled with the change as Aunty Madiha hasn't come into the new level with him. Instead of jumping out of bed, I'm struggling with a little push and enticement to get him out. Asghar & I are contemplating letting him stay on with Aunty Madiha's class as he only managed about 3 weeks there (compared to a 6-month term).

I asked Sahim if he wanted to be back in Aunty Madiha's class and he nodded his affirmation. I let him know Nathalia and Areej and everyone else will stay on in the new class. I asked him, "So who're you going to kiss since Nathalia and Areej won't be there?"

"Amma!"
